IMPORTANT NOTICE - PLEASE READ AND ACCEPT
THE TERMS
The GTA Root self-signed certificate contains the GTA Root
public key. This is needed for GTA users to correctly process
digital certificates issued within the GTA infrastructure.
The GTA public key is made available publicly to any person
who requires access to it. This public key has a limited useful
life, and will expire at some pre-defined future date as identified
within the GTA Root self-signed certificate. In addition,
the GTA public key may be replaced by a new public key, and
may at any time be revoked under given circumstances, as set
out in the GTA Certification Practice Statement. Feel free
to request a copy of the CPS from the GTA
Office Manager. The fact that the GTA public key only
has a limited useful life, and its implication, should be
taken into account before it is imbedded into any device (such
as smart-card readers, and else) or used in applications which
may be difficult to update. Specifically, the fact that after
its expiration or revocation the GTA public key may be replaced
by a new public key and therefore may no longer be of any
use, should be taken into account. An embedded GTA public
key cannot be replaced easily, and this in turn could lead
to the device or application in which it is imbedded being
of no use any longer.
GTA SHALL UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OR
DAMAGE OF ANY NATURE WHATSOEVER CAUSED AS A RESULT OF OR IN
CONNECTION WITH THE EXPIRY OR REVOCATION OF ANY GTA PUBLIC
KEY.
In accordance with GTA procedures, we regularly publish a
"hash" or "fingerprint" of the GTA public key so that GTA
users can check the integrity of their installed copies of
the GTA public key against the original. Please ensure that
the GTA Root public key you are using has a SHA-1 fingerprint
value of:
593B 2117 B86D E520 1CD2 3992 5406 CB5E 094B 8E78
You can find out the fingerprint value of your copy by opening
the certificate in Microsoft® Internet Explorer and looking
at the details tab. Alternatively you may use any other software
which implements the SHA-1 algorithm.
To download the GTA Root self-signed certificate please click
here. On Microsoft® browsers, simply select "open"
the file and then select "install certificate". This will
automatically save the certificate in your trusted certificate
store. If you prefer to store the certificate on your disk
rather than loading it into your certificate store, please
select the "save" option. Internet browsers from other vendors
also have similar functionality.
